City Gross, Granit and EKO are just some of the brands owned and operated by Bergendahls, one of Sweden’s largest family businesses. So it is no wonder that the company needed a server environment they could grow with. LOAD’s Power Cloud was just the solution they were looking for.
“Without the systems we run on Power Cloud, we would not exist!” This is how Bergendahl’s project manager Martin Josefsson answers the question of whether the new server environment is important.
“SAP, all our price lists, suppliers, customers and other master data, plus our stock, are of course there.”
“We want to work with what makes us money.”
Some time ago, Martin Josefsson was commissioned to review the company’s server environment and get quotes from potential suppliers. Bergendahls wanted to find a partner who could efficiently take over the operation of IBM’s Power System.
“We want to work with what makes us money. It would simply not be profitable for us to possess the technical focus required to operate such a complex server solution. In addition, we lacked a large part of the technical competence required to make the operation truly efficient,” says Martin.
“And since the systems we run on our servers are dependent on a high level of service, we had to have access to a knowledgeable operating staff 24/7, all year round. With over 200 stores around the country, it is of course extremely important that we do not experience any significant operational disruptions – and that we can quickly solve them should they occur,” Martin continues.
